The Dog Days Are Over… #outfitpost
Cue Florence and The Machine!
But really, all joking aside, the term coined by the Romans, diēs caniculārēs, is meant to signify the hottest, most sultry days of summer between July and August. This past weekend being the last weekend of August was especially lovely therefore especially bittersweet. For some, it is the first week of school and if not, then many are returning from their holidays. In any case, the time to bid adieu to summer is at hand and personally I have incredibly mixed feelings on the subject.
I’ll admit that it is true that in Los Angeles summer is never truly over but consider this my last hurrah before I step into my fall wardrobe. Keeping that in mind, I’ve created a look that hopefully invokes the idea of a perpetual and endless summer by mixing stripes, florals, neon and lace.

I really loved starlet Shailene Woodley's outfit at the @VanityFair and @Juicy_Couture “Vanities" 20th Anniversary Party last night at the Siren Studios in Hollywood. It was very chic and sophisticated for a young woman and yet very playful.

My Official Christmas Wish List.

Its that special time of the year again, when everyone is searching for that perfect gift. While some may thoroughly enjoy racking their brains or rummaging through racks of clothes wondering “will this special person even like this?”, most people do not. Thus in hopes that my loved ones will not lose their sanity this holiday season over picking out the perfect gift, I am all in favor of facilitating the process with Christmas wish lists! And voilà, here is mine in budget friendly order!

1. Starbucks Red Holiday To-Go Mug ($7.00).

Every holiday season, I look forward to the return of “Holiday Red Cup” at Starbucks! I am a big hot chocolate and coffee drinker and nothing is better when the weather outside is frightful than staying indoors, curled up, with a hot cup and a wonderful book. And with this lovely mug, the holiday good cheer is bound to last all year!

2. American Apparel Nail Polish ($7 a bottle, 3 pack for $15 or 7 pack for $32).

I love nail POLISH! Polish being the operative word *giggles*. A lot of my style really involves contrasting feminine and masculine pieces and I love the idea of having your nails painted but wearing a studded leather jacket at the same. Its the interplay between the masculine and feminine that makes getting dressed so exciting to me.

3. MAC Cosmetics Villain Collection, Dr. Facilier, I’m So Vain Mirror ($13.00).

I love love love MAC Cosmetics and Disney! Therefore their recent collaboration naturally has me over the moon. And while Dr. Facilier is a relatively new Disney villain, he has quickly become one of my favorites. I thank my obsession with all things New Orleans related for that.

4. MAC Cosmetics Villain Collection, Cruella de Vil, Amplified Crème Lipstick in Heartless Cherry Red ($15.00).

RED LIPSTICK. Need I say more? Also from MAC's Villain Collection, this lipstick is bound to draw some attention which is perfectly in character with Cruella de Vil.

5. MICHAEL by Michael Kors Heart Key Ring ($18.00).

At this price, this key ring is practically a steal! I love hearts and the detailing on this gorgeous one is absolutely adorable!

6. Pottery Barn, “Remember This Moment” Picture Frame, 4X6 ($18.00).

I love my family and friends and as my boyfriend will undoubtedly tell you, I like to show it with the amount of photographs and frames I covet! While I try and avoid covering every household surface with one, it is a struggle!

7. William Sonoma Peppermint Bark ($26.50).

Yum yum yum! Nothing characterizes the holiday season quite like peppermint and chocolate! And nothing is as decadent as William Sonoma's peppermint bark! It is hand made from custom-blended Guittard premium chocolate, infused with natural peppermint oil, layered with creamy white chocolate and finished with a snowfall of crisp handmade peppermint candy bits. I’m drooling!

8. Pottery Barn, Travel Shoe Bag, Ivory ($15.00 to $19.00).

Another Pottery Barn item! This is the ultimate culmination of things I love! The colors black and white, French, cursive handwriting and organization! This is perfect for traveling or simply safe guarding one of the things a women holds most close dear, her shoes!

9. Urban Decay, Little Sins Eyeshadow Primer Potion Set ($29.00).

For those of you that know me well, and for those of you that haven’t caught on yet, I love makeup. I believe that it is a beautiful form of self-expression and can’t help but brighten any girl’s day. Unfortunately, makeup is not always the most cooperative of collaborators and every girl has chased that elusive goal of making her makeup stay put and last. The good news is with this lovely gift set, you are sure to succeed!

10. ASOS Nude Feather Clutch ($35.00).

I really can’t even fathom where to begin. This clutch is just FABULOUS. Clutches actually work for most occasions, despite what your Mother may or may not have told you, and this one in particular could be paired in numerous ways. Its just gorgeous. And I love gorgeous little things!

11. Lanvin For H&M, White Ruffled Skirt ($60.00).

Ah yes, you were wondering when we were going to get to Lanvin For H&M collection, weren’t you? Well here it is, my “I-can’t-live-without" pick. What’s not to love? Its très feminine, its got a little glamour, a whole lot of fabulousness and its versatile.

12. Chloé by Chloé fragrance (1 oz. Eau de Parfum, $60.00).

I love this art deco bottle and the fragrance is just heavenly with top notes of pink peony, freesia, and lychee. At the heart, you will find midnotes of magnolia flower, lily of the valley, and rose and lastly at its base cedarwood, amber, and honey.

13. Urban Outfitters, Gray Deena & Ozzy Lace-Up Wedge Boot ($78.00).

I love these boots so much, I nearly cried in the store when I had to leave them behind! They are gorgeous, slimming and so very à la mode!

14. Steve Madden, Haylow Gold Glitter Heels $89.95.

Another fabulous shoe, this time from Steve Madden. This is the perfect holiday shoe to add a little sparkle to your perhaps otherwise blah outfit!

15. James Perse, Striped Scoop Neck Top in Olympic ($95.00).

I love love love James Perse! But this top in particular is exactly what I have been looking for forever! And how beautifully this could be paired with Lanvin For H&M white ruffled skirt!

16. MICHAEL by Michael Kors Jet Set Continental Wallet, Black ($118.00).

Classique, chic et jet set. This is just exquisite.  Very much my style.

17. Juicy Couture, Scarlet Sunglasses ($120.00).

FABULOUS, FABULOUS and more FABULOUS! The modern-day equivalent of Scarlet O’Hara’s wardrobe. These sunglasses will take you from drab to fabulous instantaneously. I love them. These are a NECESSITY

18. Apple’s 16GB, Black, iPhone4 ($199.00).

What can I say? I am a sucker for design. Despite recent reports that criticize the new iPhone’s practicality, I am hooked. Besides I’m in need of an upgrade, my poor current iPhone has seen better days.

19. Sam Edelman, “Lorissa” Stud Pump ($199.00).

PALM TREES. RODEO DRIVE. A YOUNG AND TANNED LEGGY BLONDE DASHES ACROSS THE STREET TO BARNEYS, STARBUCKS AND iPHONE IN HAND. SHE IS CLAD IN SCARLET JUICY COUTURE SUNGLASSES, A BLACK BLAZER, A JAMES PERSE SCOOP NECK TOP, LANVIN FOR H&M'S WHITE RUFFLED SKIRT AND SAM EDELMAN STUD PUMPS.

Sounds like an L.A. version of “The Devil Wears Prada”, does it not? But really these shoes are decidedly that fabulous.

20. Disneyland Southern California Annual Passport ($239.00).

This is for the little girl in me. Disneyland is like the mothership and it calls out to me quite often *giggles*! And really, the pass is worth every penny of its expensive price tag.

And there you have it, ladies and gentlemen! My 2010 Christmas wish list. Happy Holidays!

Erin Fetherston Brings New Flavor to Juicy Couture.

In January, Juicy Couture founders Gela Nash-Taylor and Pamela Skaist-Levy announced that they were taking a step back from the creative process. Meanwhile up-and-coming designer Erin Fetherston has been working on a new look for Juicy Couture, beginning with a capsule collection of holiday dresses set to arrive in stores on November 15th. “I never would have expected it but it has been a huge stimulation creatively,” the young designer was quoted saying. Personally, I can not wait to see what she has in store! Check out her velour strapless above.
