Floral Blazers, The Euro Cup and Patriotism.

As a general rule, I don’t love florals. Many of my peers will find that hard to believe considering the amount of floral clothing I own. Be that as it may, I am very specific and choosy when it comes to florals. No one wants to run the risk of being mistaken for their grandmother and let’s be utterly clear- I loathed the (thank God passé) elderly chic trend. Who voluntarily dyes their hair grey? I MEAN.

Now despite being so picky, I instantly fell in love with a gorgeous floral ZARA jacket but the times being what they are I was determined to finding a more budget-friendly substitute. After many hours hell bent on finding an alternative, I have had the good fortune of stumbling on this adorable website named SABO SKIRT and have become absolutely smitten with their floral blazers. However, therein lies the difficulty my friends- how to chose a favorite!

I love the pink floral blazer because of the contrast between the subtleties of the flower and the attention grabbing neon color but on the other hand there are red poppies on the other blazer- do you know what that means to a half Polish gal like myself? I can be fashion-savvy, on trend and patriotic all at once and with the Poland vs. Greece opening Euro Cup game starting basically RIGHT NOW- what could be more perfect

Huh, I believe I just answered my own question.

Look of the Week: @CocoRocha in Zac Posen at the 9th Annual Spring Dinner Dance in NYC.
I love this! Mademoiselle Rocha looks like Spring personified.
I have to say that I didn’t love this dress when I first saw it on the runway, but this is just the instance of the right gown on the right woman. She looks ethereal and is reminiscent of Persephone and her bittersweet return to Earth from the Underworld. It’s a high-fashion mélange of Greek mythology. Beautiful, just beautiful…

Bad Days & Comfort Clothes.
It seems that I have had a series of unfortunate and unwelcome bad days. Whether it was because I felt confused, stuck in a rut, hurt or simply sad, I have found that certain tricks can really change my mood.
Chatting with my best friend Simona, or playing music full blast while driving with the windows down, or frozen yogurt, or visiting my nieces and nephews or reading a thrilling book in bed usually does the trick; but for the days when even those sweet little things don’t work, I turn to comfort clothes.
My favorite comfort colors are white, black, navy and red. However, I love most every neutral and cool tone. Comfort clothes are comfort colors, fabrics and silhouettes that serve as the basis of one’s wardrobe and are often times luxurious or soft to the touch. These items are our go-to, absolute favorite wardrobe items. You know the ones I mean- the “I can’t live without them” pieces! So today, I am celebrating our chic comfort clothes by adding a little bit of sparkle to them so even if you’re feeling a little confused, stuck in a rut, hurt or simply sad, you’ll still shine.

Spring 2012: Out With Old, in With the White.

Spring is a time of renewal and reawakening. For fashion lovers, it’s about shedding our winter coats, cleansing our wardrobes of past seasons and finally starting off the year with a clean slate. Nothing, obviously, embodies this idea better than an all white outfit.

An all white look makes quite the statement, it’s sexy and instantaneously attention-grabbing. It can also be a challenge, an exercise in creativity. How do you make a monochromatic outfit interesting?

Try it out! Xoxo
